WHO THE HELL AM I?
Hello, I’m Hannah, your cat loving, IPA drinking, post-punk listening, patriarchy smashing, friendly neighbourhood celebrant. A lot of people ask why I decided to become a celebrant, and frankly it was when I realised that if I were to ever get married I’d want someone like me, that I could relate to, doing it. Someone who never outgrew their emo phase, spent their teens drinking cider in the park, grew up getting sweaty in mosh pits, loves nothing more than a crisp pint in a sunny industrial estate outside a local taproom on a weekend, hates TERFs and Tories in equal measure, and whose stretched lobes never quite did fully shrink down… If you’re someone who doesn’t fit the mould and are looking for a celebrant who will truly *get* you and represent you to the max, then I’m your gal!

Why Choose ME?
My place in this industry isn’t in the black-tie and white-wedding traditional spaces, it’s in run down churches (shout out to The Ayslum Chapel), historic old theatres (special mention to the wonderful Wilton’s Music Hall), railway arches (holla AMP Studio) and urban nature havens (hello Woodbury Wetlands!) where the focus is the heart and soul of the people coming together to celebrate their love.

HOW I GOT HERE
Music has always had my heart, and from humble beginnings playing the recorder in primary school I went on to become classically trained on the flute. I was introduced to punk rock right as my moody teenage years hit and I quickly ditched the flute for guitar. I spent my teens playing in a pop-punk band, going to and playing at any and every gig I could before eventually mellowing out and settling down with the old acoustic, singing and performing solo in pubs and small venues. Gigs and festivals are my happy place (special mention to Greenman! IYKYK) and it’s still my absolute favourite way to spend my spare time (and money!).

THE WEST END
The music world introduced me to the theatre world and it was this that led me to pursue a career as a sound designer and engineer. I did my degree in Technical Theatre and fell into Stage Management by accident. My first ever job was in the West End on Billy Elliot (mental as a 22 year old with zero experience!) and I’ve been working on large scale musicals ever since, most recently on Moulin Rouge, Back To The Future and Wicked.

ROCK CLIMBING & ADVENTURE
During the early 2010s I picked up rock climbing, travelled the world with just a backpack and my climbing gear, and worked in two of London’s top climbing walls. Eventually, I found myself teaching at one of the main drama schools in the country and, even now, still deliver workshops in Diversity, Equality and Inclusion to students.

Born for the spotlight, fluent in “backstage”, fuelled by adventure

“Hannah is that babe who is simultaneously cool but fun and puts everyone at ease in their company. You know that babe. You love what they’re wearing, but you don’t feel intimidated, they have presence and command attention, and have a way with words but also you can ugly cry and be silly and real with them and… they get you, like, really get you.”
